Sigh, if I have to explain that, perhaps you shouldn’t be taking part in UK threads.

Bowie (contrary to myth) is not bisexual.
Guinness was a happily married man.

Methinks you are confusing Obi Wan with Sir John Gielgud, who WAS gay.

Let’s see... Winston Churchill, Stephen Hawking, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, John Lennon, George Harrison, C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, G.K. Chesterton, Bertrand Russell, Alfred North Whitehead, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Francis Crick, T. S. Eliot, Paul Dirac.

Actually, now that I think about it, that's not really an appropriate measure. Because Homosexuals make up 1.8% (latest most scientific survey) of the population, to bring the numbers back into balance, you need to name ~ 50 times the number of normal people that are not queers.

I guess that means that if there are 10 prominent homosexuals in England from the last half Century, then you should have to name 500 prominent Englishmen in the last half Century who are not Homosexual.

The 1-1 ratio you have matched so far, actually supports my point quite strongly.

CS Lewis spoke of the buggery that was commonplace in the British boys schools.

The queers are claiming him. Sorry. I was disappointed too.

Good. As I pointed out in an earlier message, you need to come up with 500 of them just to make the ratio of Normal/Homosexual in line with what the latest studies have revealed is the norm in the US.

Here, 1.8% of the population is queer. That puts the ratio at better than 50 to 1.

It's really not fair. Every time I add one, you have to add 50. :)

Gore Vidal, Rock Hudson, Harvey Milk, George Takei, Andy Warhol, Cesar Romero, Tennessee Williams, Liberace, Tim Cook, Truman Capote.

There. I just named 10 famous American homosexuals. What is your point?

RE: T S Eliot American.

OK, born in America but took British citizenship. Does that count?
