I work in an urban EMS operation in a blue state and there is no affirmative action hiring here. Maybe Detroit is different but if she’s a paramedic she’d have to pass some tough writtens and practicals no matter what. Unfortunately there is no morality test that can weed out mutants ... terrible story.

She’s an EMT not a paramedic. Some folks passed in my last class that couldn’t even take a BP.

Well, Detroit is different.

I am wondering if this poor child lived in a “lighter” neighborhood, thus the refusal. I would not be surprised if this were the case - regardless of the actual race of the child.

My daughter just got her paramedic card. I guess she should go to Detroit, as there are some openings there!
Put seriously, the refer to her as an EMT, and a “ medic.” I am assuming she is a paramedic, but the story is not clear. Big difference between and EMT and a Paramedic.
