Supreme Court makes it official: Health care is a right
The Boston Globe ^ | June 25, 2015 | Joan Vennochi

Message of King v. Burwell to Republicans: It’s over.

With the Supreme Court’s 6-3 ruling, Obamacare is forever part of the country’s social and economic fabric.

Now it’s time to celebrate what that represents.

The principle that health care is a right, not a privilege, as President Obama exulted.

And that it might not have happened without a Republican named Mitt Romney.

The path to achieving near universal health care coverage came about because Romney, then governor of Massachusetts, worked with Ted Kennedy, a liberal US senator, to make it happen. They worked from two premises: Society has an obligation to provide affordable health coverage, and every individual has a responsibility to get coverage....

Before Scobamacare, people got health care. No one was turned away from an emergency room, regardless of ability to pay.

What is NOW guaranteed is a “right” to pick someone else’s pocket to pay your health insurance premiums, if you can’t afford to pay them yourself. And if you have any means at all, that “right” is going to cost you thousands of dollars every year out of pocket for nothing.

That’s an incredibly perverted meaning of a “right” as traditionally understood.

Have a care, Joan Vennochi. In 1857, Democrats were gloating over the Dred Scott decision, which was also "forever part of the country’s social and economic fabric." The "celebration" was not long in lasting, and the consequences were considerable.

Not just SCOTUS but every citizen of the USA.
NO exceptions.

Government healthcare mandatory to everyone, No pay then a tax.

You bought a car and now must have insurance. Somehow that is translated into You bought your life and now must have insurance.

The left is in charge of YOUR LIFE. Get over it.

Idiots!

If medical care is a right
and therefore the business
of government, so if food
and shelter.

No one wants to provide for
himself anymore. Let’s just
slobber over p*rn for all
time now./s

There is a total lack of logical thinking among the Boston Globe style liberals. The Supreme Court made a narrow finding about whether or not federal tax credits could be provided to individuals who signed up for health insurance on a web site run by the federal government on behalf of the residents of the state that the individual lives in.

Nothing in the opinion, as misguided as it is, suggests that anyone has a right to healthcare. And it certainly doesn't even suggest that the whole Obamacare scheme is a good idea.

Health care never was and never can be a right. Confiscating one’s labor through taxes or direct slavery, in this case a doctor, to provide your “right” to healthcare is a perversion of the word. Of course liberals love that.

Message to Joan Vennochi: According to John Roberts, you don't have any rights. least of all the "right" to healthcare.

What the Supreme Court established today was the principle that the plain wording of any writ -- including the First Amendment, if it so desires -- can mean: a) exactly what it says b) the exact opposite of what it says [as it found today] or c) nothing at all.

If that makes you feel good about the decision, you're a fool.

Obamacare is already in actuarial death spiral. We’ll see how much they crow when the system goes supernova in a year.

It is a “right” in the same sense that slavery is a “right” in that it is entirely depended upon the forced service of others.

Don’t you find it telling that the number of illegals - some 25 to 30 million, is about the same number of Americans we have sacrificed to abortion since Roe v Wade?

Socialism is the evil fraud that society will be better when we each are forced to live at the expense of everyone else. The economic assets required to provide health care must come from somewhere, and that somewhere is by seizing the assets that belong to another citizen.

Socialism as an economic system is not sustainable, a concept the left loves to scold the rest of us about as they presume to occupy the moral high ground. They are liars and fools.

ith the Supreme Court’s 6-3 ruling, Obamacare is forever part of the country’s social and economic fabric

That may be the case but not because of a SC ruling. Congress could kill Obamacare tommorrow if it wished.

Sure it’s a right - as long as someone else is around to pay for it just in case you can’t.....
