You're ASSUMING, and that always leads to errors.
All I care about is THE FACTS.
The FACTS are, that they were COMMUNISTS, caught up in the COMMUNISTS movements, and in the LIMELIGHT.
They were into SHOCK VALUE, in an area of the United States, not too far removed from WAR (Pearl Harbor).
They were REBELLIOUS and probably pictured themselves as COMMUNISTS ACTIVISTS.
