The Viet Nam war wasn't about winning. It was about making lots of money for the folks who make weapons of war and sell them to the government.
Yep.. Vietnam was an easy win if we bombed the dikes. Nobody wanted to win that one.
Yup.
America could have won that war in a couple weeks if America’s “leaders” wanted to do so. In fact, in strictly military terms, the war was an ass kicking. The Tet Offensive was a debacle for the Viet Cong.
But the left won on the political front (think Cronkite), so we retreated. Ugh.
Very true, there was no policy, no direction, no goal.
