The LGBT community will likely NOT want to extend rights like that to pedophiles. I know people who are gay at work and they were horrified at the Jerry Sandusky scandal and the gay community disawowed itself from Sandusky as fast as possible. But do you really know why they were against it? It could have been they knew the association with it hurt the cause they focused on in gay marriage, since it exposed the slippery slope they were desperately denying was there.

First of all, we need to cease using that term. It is NOT a marriage. Right now, I don’t know what the term should be but it is NOT marriage.
