The MSM is extremely squeemish when it comes to casualties. They will scream bloody murder if more than 1000 US soldiers are killed in a conflict.

If another civil war happened, the potential casualties would be horrific—especially given modern weapons. However, if a state or region tried to secede from the US, my $$ says they would be mum about the resulting casualties.

It would be an open question to see how many bodies would pile up before public opinion said “let them go”. Likely, the Federal Government would try a blockade or crippling sanctions to minimize the casualties. Plus, cut off all benefits to people in those areas.

I just don’t think casualties on the order of what happened in the Civil War would be tolerable in this day & age.

The thing is, cutting off all benefits would not be the end of the world for an entity with a hard-working population and enough resources to be self-sufficient. They'd also have to have enough of a state identity to work hard toward a common goal. I'd think cutting off Social Security and pensions from other states and entities wouldn't be possible, since those are paid where ever in the world one lives. They aren't an entitlement. Three states that might be able to do it, I'd think, would be Texas, Hawaii and Vermont.

I look at a place such as OH and say "no way". This entity does not function as one state, and I suspect most of the state wouldn't want to fund Cleveland.

I don't know if it would be in my lifetime. But at some point the whole thing has to come tumbling down. I just hope it doesn't bring all of civilization with it. Could happen; look at ISIS. The globalists are still playing that situation for advantage, instead of having disintegrated them last year when it was possible. They're pure evil, and just the kinda' guys that could usher in another dark ages.

I ramble. My point? As horrific as it might be in the process, to save civilization and Christian values, it's going to take some real pain. With that over-view the breakup of the US might be the best of a lot of bad choices.

I’ve expected an eventual attempt at secession by several states. I also expect that the Feds have been prepping for this possibility, as well as a very large general uprising, for years now.

I think the Feds expect a “mother of all financial meltdowns” to occur at some point, with the resultant push by some states to leave the union. I completely expect the Feds to resist this with every ounce of force necessary, including the final solution, direct and brutal military action.

I think the outpouring of military hardware to LE agencies is part prepositioning, and part of the process of inculcation of local cops into being the Feds front line against uprisings. They do hope to squelch any drama quickly using local actors first, preventing major use of force.
