Actually, an amendment that gives explicit rights to the STATES to define marriage might have a better chance.

Actually, an amendment that gives explicit rights to the STATES to define marriage might have a better chance.

Considering the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution already states that "All powers not delegated to the United States (read that: Federal Government) by the Constitution are reserved to the States" has already been grossly violated by ObamaCare and "homosexual unions" how's another Amendment that the Executive and Judicial branches of our government have already chosen to completely ignore going to help matters here?

Here's the problem we face as Americans:

1. The Judicial Branch of our Govermnent specifically the Circuit Courts and the US Supreme Court are unelected, unaccountable to the American People in any way, and there is nothing stopping a leftist-bound court from simply re-writing the laws before it, or instituting a "right" that is found nowhere in the Constitution.

2. The Executive Branch of our Government (President, Vice President) is not being held accountable for over-stepping its bounds in any meaningful, consistent way by the Judicial Branch. 23 times Obama has been overturned by the United States Supreme Court, which has only resulted in Obama continuing anyway, without fear of repudiation by either the Courts, or a complicit Congress.

3. The Legislative Branch of our Government is corrupt to the core. Power and influence are for sale to the highest bidder and the will of the American People is no longer the business of, or concern of, those elected legislators. Further, the elected legislators do not fear being turned out of office by their constituents. Why? Because election laws are rigged in their favor, and more often than not turns away those who genuinely want to serve their country through money, fear, extortion, blackmail and about every little bit of dirt that any incumbent's campaign can dig up on an opponent, further limiting those who might run against an incumbent.

Now, how do we fix this problem, since it cannot be entirely fixed through the ballot box, if in fact the ballot box means anything anymore?
