I’m not young and still serving proudly.

Why am I serving, training, mentoring young soldiers if Patriots like you are throwing in the flag already?

Soldiers? If you’re mentoring the United States Military kind, it’s certain you aren’t mentoring them about Christianity, the evils of homosexuality, that abortion is wrong and that there is only one Almighty Creator. Your job would be quite the opposite in today’s world.

If you mean the Christian kind, what do you tell them about the American flag that makes it worth standing up and saluting with tears in your eyes like my dad used to do.
Is it because it’s supposed to represent a free people? Is it because it stands for “one nation under G-d as it did when hundreds of thousands of our young gave or risked their all? Is it because it stands for the people’s right to remove a tyrannical regime, thus insuring the right to bear arms will not be infringed upon? Does it adhere to The Constitution written in the wisdom of our founders? Does it fly over a nation that reveres its history, heritage and culture in the face of foreign criticism and attacks? Does it fly over American soil in any place, at any time, on any media that any American chooses to display it? Throw in the flag? I’ve been forced, by my government, to watch while any and all of the enemies of my country and me and mine, profane it, burn it, defecate on it and be successful in demanding it’s removal because it offends them; all while standing on American ground that countless American lives have been sacrificed to keep it flying above.

The answer to my questions is NO! It stands for nothing that it used to represent, absolutely nothing. It’s just a symbol of another political death wish in a long, long history of the same. What once was noble, special, unique and respectable about it is gone. It represents a piece of real estate on planet earth, just like all other flags; a piece of real estate that doesn’t even protect it’s borders from encroachment and whose lines are becoming more blurred with each passing day.

This Fourth of July will be a personal day of mourning for me.
