A rock icon, Chris Squire, bassist of "Yes," died at age 67 of leukemia, which was only recently diagnosed.
I must be hungry - not spaghetti fingers - rubber fingers.
Some of the songs from tales are tedious while others are great.
Much too young!
I can’t tell you how many bottles of Boone’s Farm Strawberry Wine were consumed by me and my friends while listening to Yes! (We were too broke to afford drugs, LOL!)

‘Long Distance Runaround’ is a perennial fave; lots of bass on that one!
Yep. That place..
I think Fragile was late ‘71 and was an FM radio favorite all through the ‘70’s but especially in ‘72. Close To The Edge, my fav Yes album, was next.
Met Wakeman at my church where he played a few selections on the piano. He had accepted Christ and I asked him if Jon Anderson was a Christian. He said no but there was still time. Amazing pianist, and our pastor, also a musician, was absolutely green with envy.
On the first US tour, they played Summerfest in Milwaukee. I built and ran the side stage they played on. They weren’t headliners then. Grand Funk was on the main stage. They all seemed like nice guys to me. RIP Chris!
Love YES! Chris, may you Rest In Peace.
My favorite Yes album is Tormato..
I guess he wasn’t very Fragile if he made it to 67. Most rockers go long before that.
Chris Squire RIP brother. I will miss you.
One of my favorite stories about Chris Squire is the one he tells about being in the Syn and being the house band for the Marquee club in London when they opened for Jimi Hendrix. This gig established Hendrix as a world class act.
“When we got down there we unloaded our equipment out of the van and there was this band rehearsing on the stage, and the bass player was trying to learn the riff to what we later knew would be “Purple Haze”... We went to the dressing room and we got changed and we went on stage and the place was really packed ... and then as we were beginning to start our first song I looked down at the front rows and realized that all my rock heroes of all times, like the Beatles, the Stones, the Who, everyone was sitting in the chairs in the front row! “
I love “Siberian Khatru” from Close to Edge. But I think out of all Yes songs, “Wondrous Stories” is my favorite..
Big influence. Sad news. In his honor I will simply say:
TONE
TONE
TONE
TONE is everything!
I’ve seen all good people turn their heads each day,
So satisfied I’m on my way.
Our Bass player is a Squire fan. He lights up when we start ripping into Roundabout.
He was a guitarist before he was a bassist.
I re-bought “Journey to the Center of the Earth” the other day. I love his keyboards. Yes was my brother’s favorite band, so of course it sucked. I came around after I moved out of the house.
Didn’t know he was so Close to the Edge. RIP.
Jon, according to his biography, has accepted Jesus.
