Were All Those Rainbow Profile Photos Another Facebook Experiment?
The Atlantic ^

Posted on 06/28/2015 6:33:00 PM PDT by Blue Turtle

By overlaying their profile photos with a rainbow filter, Facebook users began celebrating in a way we haven't seen since March 2013, when 3 million people changed their profile images to a red equals sign—the logo of the Human Rights Campaign—as a way to support marriage equality. This time, Facebook provided a simple way to turn profile photos rainbow-colored. More than one million people changed their profile in the first few hours, according to the Facebook spokesperson William Nevius, and the number continues to grow.

Since the ruling... a lot of my Facebook friends have took to overlaying their profile pics with the rainbow. They say it is for equality and everyone has a 'right' under the constitution to be married. I am considering deleting those folks as their 'anti-christian' rainbows are offensive to ME. Any freepers have any suggestions?

I unfriended ever single person who did the rainblow overlay, including relatives.

I had a friend go so far as ask why I wouldn’t change my pic. I told the truth and she went ballistic.

What if we just post the following:

So good to see my Facebook friends honoring God’s Covenant to Man: “I promise every living creature that the earth and those living on it will never again be destroyed by a flood. The rainbow that I have put in the sky will be my sign to you and to every living creature on earth. It will remind you that I will keep this promise forever.”

Until now, I’ve ignored it, but have been thinking about adding something to my own profile that will tick them off. Maybe a rainbow colored AR15, rainbow dollar sign, or Justice Kennedy in a rainbow colored robe. Any other ideas?

I put the Gadsen flag up on mine. Only trouble is, only my wife and daughter are “friends” on facebook.

My daughter (17) did go through and delete everyone with a rainbow thingy.

Do what you like, but to them, denying gays the right to marry was no different than denying blacks or women the right to vote - they see it as a big civil rights victory. If you can’t be ‘friends’ with people who think that way, better start deleting, cuz they aren’t going to change their views.

Luckily I had NO friends or family use the rainbow overlay. Including those that are gay or liberal. I stated earlier this year as a conservative, I would post along those lines and anyone who didn't like or agree with me could unfriend me. No one did.

I agree with your post although I find the ‘gay supporters’ the most intolerant and the most hateful to a different opinion.

>>Good move. I just did the same.

I had never unfriended anyone on FB before. I’ve unfollowed some people, but always kept them as friends. But, this was a fundamental difference that made me choose to just not associate with them anymore. They chose culture. I choose God.

I didn’t post a big opus or write a single word about it. I would just see the rainblow profile photo and right click and choose Unfriend and they are gone from my life.

I lost 7 and my life is better for it.

I have unfriended everyone who had that abomination. And if Facebook picks up on this trend and moves to ban the “haters” that have done likewise, I say they can go to Hell. This week I will be terminating several business relationships, all having to do with the abomination flag.

That’s exactly the point. Why have people like that in your life? They only poison your mind and refuse to listen to your “religious arguments” because “the law is settled”.
