I know you're talking about the SC flag, but I am compelled to post this observation.

I drove down a particular neighborhood street today, farther than I have for several years (due to detour, standing flood water, and construction).
I was pleased to see a good number of homes that had a full size flag pole in their front yards, flying Old Glory. Except one.
As I approached the house, I thought "how could they fly a flag so tattered and faded?" As I got closer, the truth was - in a word - revolting.
Each of the 50 stars was purposely cut/damaged with a gaping hole in each one. Each stripe was cut/ripped along every seam. Absolutely disgraceful. My heart sank.

Whomever did this to the flag, whomever lives in that house, is obviously off their cracker, I dare not approach the front door. So, I plan on sending an anonymous post card to tell them how offensive this is.

Any other suggestions???

Yeah, what statement do you think the guy is making? Ask him. You may find he is expressing thoughts you carry, but in a different way. We must be careful not to worship the flag like an idol. It is a symbol. We are all looking for a way to fight back. Some ideas will be better than others. What Obama, Boehner, McConnel and Roberts/Kagen have done to us is far more distressing and disgusting than tearing up a flag, (a piece of cloth) in protest of same.
