Coeur d‘Alene, Idaho, city officials have laid down the law to Christian pastors within their community, telling them bluntly via an ordinance that if they refuse to marry homosexuals, they will face jail time and fines.
The dictate comes on the heels of a legal battle with Donald and Evelyn Knapp, ordained ministers who own the Hitching Post wedding chapel in the city, but who oppose gay marriage, The Daily Caller reported.
A federal judge recently ruled that the state’s ban on gay marriage was unconstitutional, while the city of Coeur d‘Alene has an ordinance that prevents discrimination based on sexual preference.
The Supreme Court’s recent refusal to take on gay rights’ appeals from five states has opened the doors for same-sex marriages to go forth.
The Knapps were just asked by a gay couple to perform their wedding ceremony, The Daily Caller reported.
“On Friday, a same-sex couple asked to be married by the Knapps, and the Knapps politely declined,” The Daily Signal reported. “The Knapps now face a 180-day jail term and a $1,000 fine for each day they decline to celebrate the same-sex wedding.”(continued)

Pass laws that remove marriage from the purview of the State; States should get out of the marriage business altogether.
This then would place the “licensure” onus on the Federal Government. Anyone wanting such benefits of marriage must obtain permission from the Federal Government. After all, marriage has specific benefits found in the ^Federal^ IRS code.
Now, for the twist! Have each marriage license subject to review and approval by the SCOTUS, signed off (original signature required) by one of the SCOTUS judges.
It is their decision, let them live with it.

There is no need to wonder any longer. This country has let itself be consumed and destructed by the liberals and so called progressives. The time for resistance and civil war has passed and WE let it happen.
And, really, we (social conservatives) did not see this decision coming?
Even after the courts’ nullification of California’s duly-passed-by-the-vote-of-the-populous Proposition 8?

That won't happen. The MSM won't report. It doesn't fit the "narrative". Those people in jail would effectively cease to exist.
In anticipation of this exact legal situation, I have advised my own church to inform all clergy to immediately cease conducting marriage ceremonies as agents of the State. This is EXACTLY what they have allowed themselves to become when they sign a marriage certificate or license after presiding over pronouncing a couple to be married.
Instead, clergy should clearly delineate between secular marriage as defined by the State and God’s marriage covenant. It was a mistake to commingle the two and now the reason has become crystal clear. Churches must aggressively assert that the marriage covenant is strictly an ecclesiastical matter that is outside of the powers of government to intrude upon and fully protected by the First Amendment.
Should a couple come to the clergy to be married, the clergy should explain that he can officiate at a ceremony for the marriage covenant and to explain the terms and conditions of that covenant. Only after he is satisfied that he has the authority to conduct the ceremony should he agree to do so.
Prior to the ceremony, the couple would go to the government to complete the secular requirements for being “married” as government would define it.
Let the things of Caesar return to Caesar and the things of God return to God.
People who do not know God, nor care to know, do not want to enter into this covenant anyway. Nor can they.
But know this: that those who planned this coup, this redefinition of “marriage”, crave God’s approval of their sins far more than they desire to participate in the institution of marriage. They are exactly like the people described in Revelation 22:15, who are refused entrance to the Kingdom because of their willful sins.
That would cede this battle to the enemy. The majority opinion said that the religious could talk about SS marriage, implying that the 1st Amendment does not protect the exercise of religion, not just talk. The majority has already decided you have free speech and are allowed to complain as you are forced to bless homo weddings.
The right thing to do is have the Rep candidates (and maybe surprise Dem or two) come forward and declare that state marriage confers no benefits or those will gradually be removed. Then record religious marriages in state records. If religions refuse to marry homosexuals then those homos are out of luck.
Californians have been moving to Idaho in droves bringing some their deviant lifestyles with them.
It’s not the first time Christians have been told to either turn their backs on their faith or suffer at the hands of the secular authorities. Martyrs are made this way.
It’s getting to the point where the penalty for killing our oppressors is less than the penalty for passively resisting them. I think our oppressors will be greatly surprised when the shooting starts.
Invite them to pre-marital counseling to review the Scriptures and prepare for christian marriage before offering an answer.
“Christians” have been slumbering in the thought that all these vile fags wanted is to be left alone. We’ve slept too long. They’re bringing the fight to us and their objective is to force “Christian” organizations to openly embrace homosexuality or be outlawed. It’s past time for us to get off our sanctimonious butts and defend the faith.
Recall election. Vote them out.
Yes. Just cause it’s legal doesn’t make it compulsory. People are still entitled to their religious convictions -as Justice Kennedy pointed out in the majority decision.
If not, the SCROTUS decision cannot stand.
