Utility companies will become much less arrogant when they fully realize that there is a large financial cost to them in law suits, and loss of customers for their so called electrical services, and insurance. The immorality and lack of basic humanity shown by installing these meters in the sneaky manner noted is of course the crux of the argument against these meters. The electric companies show in their behavior that they fully know how detrimental those fiendish devices are in terms of health and privacy.

I can’t believe I wasted the effort to even scroll to the end of this nonsensical screed.

If there were even an industry that requires privitization it is electric services.

Sounds like bad grounding at both the house and utility.

It’s for your own good... And burning to death in a house fire caused by these stupid smart meters is less than the boogeyman of global warming.

And people who support this government mandated nonsense also support the government running the medical system.

Is it 5 o’clock somewhere???

+1. I think this is the script for a bad horror movie. Light bulbs blowing up on household circuits? Please.

That said there are real issue with smart meters. I had all of the ones on my properties removed until they stabilize.

Toilets that don’t completely empty due to the pint of water mandated by an out-of-control central communist government.

Air bags that blow up in your face and could kill your child.

Thomas Edison’s invention replaced by mercury filled spiral units that are made in China and last for six months or so.

An IRS agency that has created such convolutely stupid and lengthy laws and forms as to drive one insane.

There are so many more, but I have been cautioned by other freepers to practice brevity.

Maybe it has to do with being a man, but I couldn’t stay focused on the ‘my story’ part of this post.

If she could have said, ‘They installed a smart meter, it caused lots of damage to my house, we incurred a lot of expenses, and it sucked.’ I’d be on to the next shiny object grabbing my already minimal attention span.

Smart Meters would not cause light bulb’s to blow up (they don’t regulate the current coming into the home). Sounds more like she has bad wiring in her home or faulty breakers. And living three years in AP with “no heat”, yeah, no.

Never ever use Scam Farm Insurance. They sneaked in a non existent fireplace on our home owners. Then put the teenage driver onto our new vehicle and refused to take it off and onto the old vehicle. Tried to jack with us by only paying off on the value of a stripped down model vehicle and I was parked so the other driver was totally at fault. Saying we hadn’t paid the premium when I had the cancelled check, etc. And the agents are just mean.

I realize that every instance can vary greatly, but after the Northridge earthquake, State Farm was literally throwing money at us...finding cracks in places we'd never have considered.

If a light bulb had broken, that entire room got recarpted....if there was a hairline crack around any window, that entire room got repaired and repainted. When the adjuster noticed a few newer cracks the patio and cinderblock walls, the patio got ripped out and repoured, and for the walls, we received a "per foot" settlement.

Let’s see. All of the light bulbs in her house blew out (I guess every light in the house was on?). Some of them caught on fire. So, with multiple fires in her house, she runs out to talk to some guy in a truck. Then she goes back in the house to find the fires are out (whew!). Later, a guy from the electric company comes out and admits that they damage peoples’ property.

I couldn’t read any more of this nonsense, but I’m pretty sure the next thing she did was change clothes, because she’s already dropped a pants load.

good for you folks. Our State Farm insurance rates are going up every year and they want to pay less and less. I have an instance of a claim they did not want to pay (which I will not get into at this time). It was a rental, I dumped the house on the cheap............

I am at the age that I am thinking of dropping my homeowners ins. save the money and pay for any destruction out of my own pocket, since we have to pay for it out of our own pocket anyway, why pay them for nothing. Yes, it will be a crap shoot, but at my age 10 to 15 years left of my life, I frankly don't care if the house falls or burns down in year 6,7,8 or 15 years, sell what's left on the cheap.

Add the money I saved from buying insurance to my other savings and go live somewhere else.
