Thank you for your post. Our pastor ignored the issue. Disappointing; however, he had previously decided to do a sermon series on a different topic and elected to continue with that plan, and the intercessory prayers followed the usual format. But I will certainly ask him about this issue in hopes that he will address it clearly. And I can also plan the words for an intercessory prayer from the pews during the open prayer time.

A lot of scriptural reading about the birth pains etc.
Watching and seeing the signs and continuing on in the commission Christ gave us.

Since our church is a breakaway church (LCMC) that has tried to flee this heresy, nobody is surprised.

We meet in a public building and are now expecting to be persecuted out of it but are praying for protection and a building of our own.

Hubby and I are “gypsies” right now, in search of a new church because we are tired of “pastor on a screen.”

May I recommend the Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod? (web site hotlink.) LCMS teaches the Bible and the apostolic faith, and is a very well-developed national organization.

Also in Texas. I go to a very large church in the DFW metroplex. After a scorching, on fire sermon on the supreme court decision, he asked everyone to get on their knees and pray with him. The entire church dropped to their knees while the pastor said an impassioned prayer for salvation to a fallen nation. You could hear quiet weeping. The sermon will be online soon, I will link it when it is.

The KofC council that I belong to is losing our council hall because of this. We can no longer host weddings, which used to pay the bills, so we are having to sell the building.

Can't the Archdiocese label it a "mission" or something of that sort, install an altar, and hold certain types of services there regularly, sanctifying the building as a church?

UMC is riddled with gays, lesbians and sympathizers. We had to leave ten years ago, as it became intolerable to hear bald lies told from the pulpit.

The elders of our church had already met and had constructed a strong statement declaring that we will uphold the biblical definition of marriage in our church. The pastor read the statement to the congregation and there was loud applause.

I thought the congregation was going to break out into a standing ovation at one point...not appropriate for church

Why not? I don't like applause in church, even applause for the choir, but if the words of a sermon rouse people to an occasional outburst of applause, or a few loud Amens!, where's the harm?

20 minutes on life and why the same sex ruling is wrong and what it will do to the Catholic Church — at a Daily Mass!

He was gone to visit his last relative who is dying — visiting Chicago.

He promised to talk about it next Sunday.

communicate with your pastor, ask the questions you need to have answered, and if it leaves you feeling enraged that your church has been invaded by sodomites, just walk away... ...and DON'T LOOK BACK.

I must agree. Everything I believed about Christian witness had been offended, insulted, and violated at the UMC too many times. Leaving the UMC after 5 generations of family was almost as bad as a divorce, but I wish I had done it sooner, now that I have grown by leaps and bounds by studying the Word, participating in home churches, taking Bible classes at churches where I was not a member, and finally finding a new church home.

Pastor,

Does the letter to the seven churches, in the book of revelation play into what is happening today and in the churches across the world?

I keep coming back to that part of the Bible lately. I don’t fully understand the letter to the church in Ephesus.

I also feel a bit muted because one part of the church thinks I’m being judgmental if I stand up for traditional marriage or that I’m against gay people. My motive is just to keep the word of God and not change it because of the changing climate today. I have nothing against gay people because I’m a sinner too. I can’t find people with in the church who want to talk about this.
