United Nations (United States) (AFP) - Robert Redford told the United Nations on Monday that negotiations on a global deal to tackle climate change could be the world's "last chance" to save the planet.
"This December, the world must unite behind a common goal," said the American actor and producer.
"Because look, this is it. This is our only planet, our only life source.
"This may be our last chance."
World governments will try to forge a new global accord to address climate change at a UN climate conference in Paris in December, with both developed and developing countries committing to cutting greenhouse gas emissions.
The landmark agreement would limit global warming to 3.6 degrees Fahrenheit (two degrees Celsius) from pre-industrial revolution levels as of 2020.
"We are all responsible for this crisis," Redford told the gathering. "Your mission is as simple as it is daunting: save the world before it's too late."

The predictions of 1 billion pre-mature deaths and 6 degree C increase are all false. Relax! Admit that you don’t know squat about the climate. It cooled from 1950 to 1975 when the industrialized world was blowing CO2 hard - they thought we were entering another ice age, then it warmed and now it is cooling again - because CO2 doesn’t drive it like they think it does.
Show me a model that works?
It has not been scientifically proven that these trace amounts of atmospheric CO2 are changing anything in the planet’s climate that is even remotely statistically relevant. Right now Global Warming has been put on hold as none of the AGW climate models have proven anything and the Earth’s temperature is not cooperating. Princeton mathematician Freeman Dyson back filled the Global Warming models with actual CO2 numbers and the results diverged greatly from the climatic history, so much for the accuracy of the models. The fact is that the scientists have not yet been born, nor the engineers yet been trained, nor the software designed nor the sensing equipment yet conceived that could create an interplanetary climate model that predicts the Earth’s climate with anything remotely resembling accuracy. They are attempting brain surgery in an operating room with the lights off, using garden tools, and armed only with a plumbing certificate. Who is on the table? The taxpayer!
What is of further interest is the Middle Ages Warming Period during the years 900 to 1200, when the temperature across the entire planet was much higher than it is today – so much so that the Vikings created an agricultural community on Greenland for 200 years. It is impossible to grow crops there now and their colony eventually died out as the temperatures dropped. However there are Vikings buried in what is now 6 feet of concrete like permafrost, but at the time was loose soil. Why this is relevant was that the MAWP was deliberately removed from the “hockey stick” temperature curve that was made popular by Professor Michael Mann. He did not want to show a temperature that was naturally higher in the last 1000 years than the 20th century because then he could not say that our temperatures are now unnaturally high due to fossil fuels use. Where this was confirmed was through the unauthorized release of emails from East Anglia University, the Global headquarters of the Global Warmists, that quoted their proponent scientists as saying “we have to get rid of the MAWP”, and then went on to remove citations of it from climate papers. It ran counter to their narrative.
Mann’s statistics are abysmal, perhaps the tree rings were all Cherry, because he certainly cherry-picked them. some smart statisticians took Mann’s equations, created 100,000 random generated temperature decks – threw them in his model and voila, all produced a perfect hockey stick each and every time. High/low temps would all become low to high. These are not honest people, they steadfastly refuse to look for the evidence that will disprove their theory like proper scientists, instead, like the arrogant jerks that they are, claim everything they find consistently confirms their Global Warming scheme; that every stitch of work perfectly dovetails with one of the most chaotic systems in the universe. They have predetermined the final curves in their mind and then arrogantly pollute and manipulate the data that will merely confirm what they were determined to find. Now they refuse to give out their data – obviously! They have corrupted the peer-review process, and they personally destroy the proponents of any theory that even smacks of an alternative plan to their Global Warming scheme. No scientist at any university dares go against this Alarmist mafia - they will be attacked, defunded, accused of plagiarism, reviewed for every mistaken footnote all the way back to their 12th grade homework and then destroyed in the press. All this so they can say every scientist in the world agrees with them but it is only evidence that extortion and intimidation, in league with a biased media, actually works.

The list of unfulfilled “last chances” to “save the planet” is almost as long as the list of all the terrible things caused by global warming. or climate change or climate disruption or whatever the hell we’re calling it this week.
This redford fool is not to be believed. He is yet another in a long line of celebs who know little and often spout off their irrelevant spew for consumption by the fame-consumed brain-dead.
