One of the main objections to Democracy which our founding fathers had to deal with was its tendency to impose the tyranny of the majority. An Mel Gibson’s character in “The Patriot” so well put it, “Why should I trade one tyrant 2000 miles away for 2000 tyrants one mile away?” In the Federalist papers this was referred to as the tyranny of factionalism. Madison went to great pains to show that a constitutional democratic republic combined with an absolute sovereignty of individual natural rights and a federalist separation of power was the antidote to this well documented flaw in a purely democratic system. Well, all of those fail-safes are now gone and we are seeing the face of factionalism in all its ugliness. When you combine this access to power with the solipsistic worldview and post-modern disdain for any objective morality which prevails in modern culture then you get the worst society imaginable.
Correct.. but its a problem with the people themselves...
These faction believe its there right to be tyrants over others.
they no longer have any self-check on their action
the concepts, the ideal that the same natural laws that restrict government ....also restrict them...as and individual in their actions..and their wants and demands on the government and fellow citizens
.. Their a line went Libertarians can crossover in to being an Antichrist ....
its when a libertarian forget the same natural law that restricted government also restricts the individual....
and when’s that libertarian starts thinking no law... be it man made, Gods, natural, self evident or anything other then his personal want should govern him....that is when they become an anarchist ..(nothing or no one can or should tell them no)
Then they come something between a petulant child and and a full on tyrant demanding other bow to thier every want and whim
