Well, I’m happy to say that Constitutional Carry is going to happen in Maine, despite the Nanny Bloomers and their ilk’s attempt to stop it.
The bill passed the democrat controlled Maine House and the Republican controlled Maine Senate about a month ago.
Our conservative governor, Paul LePage, said he will sign the bill, which landed on his desk after changes were made to add members of the military who are under the age of 21.
The original bill was for Maine residents 21 and older.
Sad to say, the ballot initiative will be on the ballot and won’t affect CCW but will affect nearly any gun transfer within the state. Word from our legislators is that if it passes, it will be the law as written. And the legislature only meets every other year here in NV and just adjourned so they won’t be able to take any action until 2017. Effective date if passed will be 1/1/2017. And it won’t do anything to stop “gun violence” or “domestic abuse”. But it sounds good.
