Unfortunately that will be playing into the narrative. Personally, I don’t much care for the Confederate “battle flag”. The group did go to war against our country - and that war was fought over slavery as much as anything else. I think it was a good thing that the confederates were defeated and we remained one country. I know that many considerate it their heritage, but even Nikki Haley thinks that maybe the history is too painful, and shouldn’t fly with the official American flag. And because it is so identified with the slave past, it doesn’t do the conservative side much good to be waving that flag at the first Black president.
