A man wanted in western Illinois for stomping a puppy to death has been arrested during a routine traffic stop in Chicago, according to authorities.
King Sami, 24, was stopped on Monday and taken into custody when officers discovered an outstanding arrest warrant from Warren County.
Police say Sami kicked and stomped the pit bull puppy, Cash, in early May at his home in Monmouth, where he had gone to college after growing up in Chicago. King Sami WGN-TV
The arrest warrant was issued after a neighbor went to police. Sami is charged with aggravated cruelty to an animal, a Class 4 felony that carries a maximum penalty of one to three years in prison and a fine of up to $25,000.
More than a dozen protesters gathered outside of the Warren County Courthouse on Tuesday during a hearing for Sami.
“How anyone could turn their back on an animal and do the damage they do to them, I will never understand,” said Kathy Hutchings, one of the demonstrators. . .

i'm tempted to say "if Obammey had a son...", but as we all know, a true son of Obammey would have grilled up and eaten the puppy after murdering it. so let's just say this instead, "if Michael Vick had a brother..."

Hometown story. I’m part of WIAR and Dan Porter is a friend and neighbor. (he was also instrumental in getting CCW on the ballot in Illinois) We have good law enforcement and a good states attorney here. I think this guy is toast.
