What I don’t get, and has never been explained to me, is why, when the House voted to impeach Clinton, they only charged him with lying about having an affair, which was almost nothing compared to these other charges which could have been brought. Were they just doing a show trial intended to embarrass him but not remove him? Why would the Republicans do that? I don’t get it.
There was no proof of these actions, only a strong suspicion that Clinton was complicit. And everybody who could've testified to the matter had been removed to another jurisdiction (China).
Do you remember when Monica gave her testimony that she had a new hairstyle and she kept reaching up to her ear? I always thought she was wearing an ear bud and being fed her answers.
I think it was a show trial for 2 reasons: the members of the House were compromised in one way or another, those who weren’t were fellow travelers. Another reason is the debt we owe the Chicoms, he who holds the mortgage makes the rules.
Maybe the Republicans in the House were being blackmailed.
