"I’m curious if the Torquemadas seeking to ban 'The Dukes of Hazzard' from our TV sets are equally exercised by all of the leftist college students with posters of Che Guevara in their college dorm rooms," Cruz said, referring to Tomas de Torquemada, who served as the first grand inquisitor of Spain.

Uhh... I think he meant "exorcised," not "exercised."

And even that isn't really right. Unless we're in Linda Blair territory.

Tom, the use of the word “exercised” in this context is a wholly appropriate usage of the word.

Yep , it fits, they get exercised being all upset about something [From the dictionary]:

(now often in passive) To occupy the attention and effort of; to task; to tax, especially in a painful or vexatious manner; harass; to vex; to worry or make anxious.

"Uhh... I think he meant "exorcised," not "exercised."

And you would be wrong. Cruz's use of the word is correct.

No, Ted used the correct word; exercised also means angered and/or upset.

Cruz has a good grasp/unserstanding of the English language!

Are you kidding me? SERIOUSLY! You think Cruz picked the wrong exercise?!

Do you even exercise? DO YOU?!!! It's hard to exercise. Ask Chris Christie!!!!

Did you notice the italics? That's as hard as exercising. Ask... I don't know ... anyone!

So... yeah! Just cool your heels, dude, on this exercise stuff.

Life under Obama is hard enough!
