One of the better online sources for long range precision marksmanship and reloading as well is a guy named Tiborasaurus Rex on you tube. he has countless hours of easily followed information packed videos. You can pretty much learn all you need to know and much much more from him. he is a fine American, is probably a genius in the realm of long range rifle marksmanship, and is exactly what you're looking for IMHO.

Thanks. I’ll look him up. The analogy about sniping was incorrect. I have an opportunity to go hunt some Elk this winter and was told by my host that I may need to get out to anywhere from 300 to around 700 meters. Never shot quite that far before. Thanks for your help. Appreciate it.
