They didn’t refuse to bake the cake because of ignorance of the law. They aren’t claiming they refused to bake the cake because of ignorance of the law. Ignorance of the law has nothing to do with this. They refused to bake the cake because of their religious views.

The penalty is not just out of the park, as though it’s proportionally larger than it should be. There should be no penalty for being Christians, period. A smaller penalty would not make it right. Discounting the pain and suffering would not make it right. There is no room for compromise on this.

As I have already said ... I support these Christians and fully believe that a business owner has a right to refuse service to anyone.
