One of my 5 CW veteran ancestors also fought and died at Shiloh.

I for one take extreme exception to a group of liberals and blacks attacking their service and my heritage. For 99% of us southern folks, the CBF stands for southern honor and deep reflection of family and God.

Pretty much what the left wing detests.

I doubt any flag was the tangible thing my ancestors fought for; it had more to do with their life - the land - their children & the threat that any invaders posed to them & their lives. My Daddy always said that Lincoln didn’t HAVE to have that war - that certain inventions such as the cotton gin would soon render slavery a moot point. My folks didn’t regard Lincoln on the level of a saint. There was a lot more to that war than keeping slavery going & the bottom line was, as it is in most things, the Almighty Dollar $$$$$$$$$$. - Time marches on & soon, World War I & World War II would come along and demand the best we had to give, North, South, East & West.
