Jon Lovett, a former White House speech writer to President Barack Obama, claimed at last week's Aspen Ideas Festival that he performed a secret same-sex wedding at the White House.

Under what legal authority is this sniveling jackleg performing marriage ceremonies? Are former White House speech writers usually empowered to join two parties in matrimony? And if not, what makes the poofters he supposedly united think that they are actually a married couple in the eyes of the law?

Going to a former White House speech writer for the purpose of being married is like consulting a drywall installer when you need your appendix removed. A drywall installer just ain't the person you need to deal with in relation to the problem you have.

RE: Under what legal authority is this sniveling jackleg performing marriage ceremonies?

I always argued to my gay friends that they can get “married” any way they like. They can have it performed by a church of their own choosing, a judge, a Mayor, a governor, Obama himself or even this jackleg.

Just don’t COERCE or FORCE people who take their faith seriously to recognize their “marriage”.

And THAT is the problem -— nothing but the TOTAL surrender of devout believers who they want to persecute until they discard their faith, will do (witness the Oregon Baker as but one example ).
