Yes, that was what I stated. Russia may have more abortions now but if any country could be considered to be a “pioneer” in pushing abortion, it’s the U.S. What a disgusting legacy.
No, it’s not. The US sits on the seven hills of the Earth—seven continents. Rome’s little hills are barely worth mentioning.
Yes. Peter does indeed seem to refer to Rome as Babylon. Which is very interesting!
Babylon is a code word for Rome, according to catholic apologist Ketting, It’s used as that 6 times in the book of Revolation and in other biblical writings.
Furthe, in the Middle Ages Rome is frequently styled “the Western Babylon.”... The sect of the ‘Fraticelli’, an eremitical organization from the Franciscans in the fourteenth century, familiarized the common mind with the notion that Rome was the Babylon, the great harlot of the Book of Revelation.
It was adopted by ‘Jerome’ and ‘Augustine’ and has been commonly accepted by the Church.... all the characterists ascribed to Babylon apply to Rome more than any other city of our age...
...”ruling over the kings of the earth” ...the great whore who commits spiritual fornication with the leaders of the world.....(All country leaders bring their hat to whoever the most recent Pope might be.)
...” as sitting on seven mountains”....(the catholic encyclopedia even depicts....Rome is called “The City of 7 Hills”, that the entire area of the Vatican State Propes is now confined there.
.....”as the center of the worlds merchandise”...(it is well known the catholic churches wealth has been utilized by foreign leaders since Roman Days til currently....often times paying for wars and whatever else a country might need funding for)
....”as the persecutor of the saints”......we all know catholic History and i’ts persecutions of the saints.
Additionally....Catholicism believes they have replaced Israel and even lay claim to the titles God gave Israel....’The Holy City”...The City of God”....The Eternal City”....these are exclusive to Israel yet catholicism claims them for itself.

“My point being that “The Daughter of Babylon” is the US.”
I’m not sure what you are getting at here, because you’re mixing references to two different parts of Scripture. Revelation talks about a city called “Babylon the Great”. The “daughter of Babylon” is a figure mentioned in a Psalm. So I’m not sure what the connection is.
“Our destruction will come about because we will refuse to assist Israel when the nations are at her border, ready to invade.”
Actually, I think we will be gathered there too, along with every other nation, as God has ordained:
“For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle...” Zech. 14:2
One thing to keep in mind is that the people ruling in Jerusalem now, who are our allies, will not necessarily be ruling from Jerusalem on that day.
OK. Thanks. . But what does it mean “the wings are plucked off?” Which country would that symbolize?
A functioning America doesn’t survive and that is why its not mentioned in Revelations, the remains may be folded into the EU.
Additionally regarding Rome being Babylon...
Ancient Babylon was built around the ruins of the Tower of Babel...thus it’s name...it UNITED Church and State...the first world religion.....it is the same what Rome will be in the World of Anti-Christ....the Pope uniting Religions and Civil Authority. We see Francis buzzing around the World into every nation now....and the red carpet is given him by International Leaders....... Further....The woman who rides the beast, who rides comfortably, will unite the coming World Religion and Government.
The Tower of Babel was the Ultimate “works” religion..(steps to climb)....as it is with Roman Catholicism.. Good works are required for Salvation.
Thank you. I just ordered his book online.
Yes, aside from the misinterpretations going on, I fear this is a possibility. Or we are broken up.
At least we don’t have people that would combine Canada, the U.S. and Mexico.
Oh, wait.
Well it could be argued the reason we're not mentioned is we were not a nation then and in fact are a young nation by world's standards still.
However...I do think we will not have the power we have formally known, nor will we return to it.....Obama has pretty much shown that we are even now very limited on our influence......Also, everything is now moving East...including major companies and pretty much everything.
If you look at some of the developing countries cities on line...we are ancient in our cities....and our entire infrastructure. The world is very much commercialized now and they do not see the USA as modern. I do think the World will use our military. Sadly I say this.
Yeah, I think Peter is probably talking about Rome, but I don’t think “Babylon the Great” is Rome. It just seems to fall short on some of the descriptions from Revelation.
Plus, there are only two cities in the entire New Testament referred to as the “great city”, both times with a definite usage (”the great city” as opposed to “a great city”). One of them is clearly identified as Jerusalem, while the other is called “Babylon the Great, mother of harlots” etc, and depicted as an adulterous woman. I think it’s worth noting that the Old Testament prophets also referred to Jerusalem as a harlot and depicted her as an adulterous woman. In prophecy, adultery symbolized not simply idolatry, but falling away from the worship of the one true God into idolatry, as an adulterous woman falls away from her faithful husband and lies with others. So, the depiction of “Babylon the Great” as adulterous implies that she is not just any old pagan city, even the most corrupt or powerful pagan city, but one that was once faithful to God but is no longer.
The part about the wings being plucked off and the lion made to stand like a man most likely refers to the incident with Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon. God first drove him mad for seven years (plucked his wings), and then, after restoring his sanity, softened his heart (gave him the mind of a man) so that Nebuchadnezzar would free the captive Jews and allow them to return from captivity.
Its my personal opinion that we’ll be addressed by wyrmwood
I agree.
That’s where I come down on it. I think we get hammered early. Israel will stand on its own in the end, and prevail with God’s help.
yep
Isaiah 13:19-22 fulfilled.
19 And Babylon, the beauty of kingdoms, the glory of the Chaldeans pride,
Will be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah.
20
It will never be inhabited or lived in from generation to generation;
Nor will the Arab pitch his tent there,
Nor will shepherds make their flocks lie down there.
21
But desert creatures will lie down there,
And their houses will be full of owls;
Ostriches also will live there, and shaggy goats will frolic there.
22
Hyenas will howl in their fortified towers
And jackals in their luxurious palaces.
Her fateful time also will soon come
And her days will not be prolonged.
The woman of Rev 17, Babylon, is every person who is going to hell.
These specific scriptures have not been fulfilled yet. Babylon was never destroyed like Sodom and Gamorrah. Babylon is still an inhabited village in the Babil province of Iraq. It is similar to Dubai before it began it’s impressive growth projects...
