Sen. Ted Cruz talks border patrol at Sioux City stop [IOWA]

Polling in the middle of a crowded Republican presidential field of 14 candidates, Texas Senator Ted Cruz returned to Iowa, the home to the first-in the-nation caucus.

The stop, at the local Barnes & Noble bookstore, was part of a tour touting his new book.

The Tea Party Senator from Texas spoke about the importance of earning grassroots support in Iowa and throughout the country.

He says there's number of issues he'd like to tackle if elected president, including increasing border security.

"I've introduced legislation in the senate to triple border patrol, to increase fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft, to put in place an E-verify system and put in place a biometrics exit system," said Republican presidential candidate, Ted Cruz. "When I ran for Sen. I was unambiguously opposed to amnesty."

Nearly 40 percent of Hispanic voters sided with Cruz in the 2012 Senate election.

Cruz says he's adamant about restoring the "American Dream," citing his father is an immigrant from Cuba.

Use illegals to build the WALL.. they would be much closer and it would be much easier to deport (most of)them..

Right!

What is everyone SO afraid of? It IS the issue that will take whoever pursues it, RIGHT TO THE WH... and at the same time ... if a candidate flubs it or tap-dances all around it, HE’S FINISHED!

It’s come to THAT!

He already told them, that Ethanol/Fuel thing is a stupid idea.

Clean-Up on Isle 4.

I’d rather CRUZ to the White House than Walk(er).

37.6% of Texans are supposedly Hispanic, so Cruz did OK there. Non-Hispanic whites are a minority in Texas, FWIW.

He's the only one I've seen to speak with clarity about the difference between flyover country and the left coast enclaves.

I’m sure you know that Walker opposed ethanol subsidies and then flip flopped to support them when he got to Iowa. I hope the farmers were paying attention.

That Burning your Food Cartel (Ethanol) is gonna be hard to Break up, it’s almost become it’s own monster like SS or SSDI.

That took cajones to go ‘there’ and say ‘that’ to them.

Hope Teds the REAL Thing, we need it bad.

I’m hoping one of the top Republican candidates start talking about enforcing all of our laws if they go to the WH and will pursue prosecutions for all in DC who have abandoned their oath of office, been complicit with obozo and his administration’s tyranny and illegal acts. What true American patriot could be against that?? I’m not holding my breath but this is a must if the possibility of another revolutionary war is to be averted.

I say this as someone who grew up on a farm and still live on one, with a large percentage of farmers getting them off subsidies will be like getting them off Crack.

Cruz is the most capable candidate out there. I just hope he hasn’t missed the boat on immigration.

Trump used the word deportation yesterday, the first time I have heard a candidate do so. I have said all along that the first candidate that would support systematic deportation would win in a landslide. Trump said deport the criminals and those on welfare. Just exactly the right priority.

Hope Ted speaks out soon.

Use illegals to build the WALL..

That's like using Russians to build the US Embassy in Moscow ...
