Understood. That’s the logical conclusion. I guess the better question would have been WHY? Is Trump really serious? or is he just trying to bring one of those people you mention into line with his thinking so THEY get elevated?
I mean, gun to your head right now, will Trump be on the ticket? I’m not making that bet.

I agree with R2nd, that he won't be on the ticket. In the end, there will probably be more to dislike about Trump than to like. However, I don't get all the ire about Trump that I see here on FR. If he's surging right now, he's doing something right. At least on the subject of border security, he is appealing to the conservative base. The candidates who are running a campaign based on "offending as few people as possible" may as well hang it up now. My hope is that The Donald will draw out more of the ostensibly conservative republicans to follow suit and start speaking out and pulling no punches. Obama and Biden sure as heck didn't worry if they offended some people on their way to destroying America.

Instead of complaining about Trump, conservatives ought to be asking "why isn't my candidate of choice saying this kind of stuff?"

That is exactly the point.
Most of the other candidates are attacking Trump.
They are not on the side of the citizens and Trump is exposing them.
