I’ve been playing Rocky Raccoon since it was still brand new in the late 60’s. A friend loaned me a copy of the White album, which drove my father out of his mind, and that was the first song I learned from it, Dear Prudence was next. He forbid me to play rock and roll, or tried, refused to allow me to buy any albums at all, threw screaming fits if it was loud enough he could hear it at all, it was too loud...he went ballistic when he came home and heard the White album playing...

... and did you play your records on one of those stereos that looked like a suitcase; had the speakers on each side and the turntable in the middle when you opened it up? Mine was blue... My parents bought it for me: at times I think they regretted that decision... I know my neighbors did.
