It would appear that everyone inside the District of Corruption IS STUPID!
“It is an absolute outrageous situation and to read that they turned the keys over to foreign contractors blows my mind.”
The outcome of that was what they wanted to accomplish to begin with. The stolen information is now out to the highest bidder.
You are probably on to something.
What interests me out of all this mess is how much do we have/know about Russian and Chinese secrets and data bases? If we are doing enough to make the Germans and French angry, how much more are we acquiring with our acknowledged enemies/competitors.
During the mid 1970’s I knew a man who was selling the early computer training tapes to various government agencies. He was appalled at the ignorance among the procurement types. Major agencies like Social Security had NO unified system for dealing with their data, and money was tight for improvements. One problem of solutions like the sequester are that cyber security, development and training are cut, just when they are needed the most.
Why would this administration collect any data on Russia oer China?
The Cold War is over, and has been for 20 years, I just heard obama say that not 10 minutes ago!

My impression of the Russians and Chinese is that they are totally paranoid. A thief sees a thief everywhere he looks. Our current government, on the other hand, is into unicorns and fairy dust. They can see no evil in foreigners because they are too busy seeing it in conservatives. For all their vaunted worldliness, they are very parochial.
Nowadays, that falls under the legal rubric of “assumption of the risk”. :-)
While I waiting for my “Q” clearance to come through, in nuclear weapons testing, the company had a wives day visit to the NTS. My wife got so see my office in the secured area before I did, and she worked at Sears.
