I like WhataBurger better than In-N-Out. Maybe our local one sucks, but I fail to see the attraction for it.
When they see a drastic drop in their quarterly earnings, they will review their policy.
The Rig????? Seriously??? no.
I think we will arguments in the Supreme Court agreeing with your thesis. Also how can non carry states violate what another state has approved like gay marriage.
“Couldn’t the same argument be made against Whataburger that the homosexuals have been making: IT’S THE LAW OF THE LAND.
If a Christian baker can be forced to “follow” the law, then why can’t Whataburger be forced to “follow” the law as well?
Is this not a denial of rights....as in the Second Amendment? “
Maybe there is a disconnect here...the liability of someone grabbing someones gun and using said firearm to cause mayhem in said store, or that someone is open-carrying and fails to use it during an attempted robbery?
Just asking.
Whataburger has no qualms with concealed-carry and neither do I.
Not a fan of open carry and I live near a tiny little town(I in fact open carry on the farm and travel to said little town and leave said firearm in my truck most of the time.)
Second-rate burger joint makes a stupid policy,
does every other taco shack Now have to chime in ?
changing my tag line;
Waiting for the Fireworks.
Indeed. But why not just conceal carry at such an establishment? Improvise. Adapt. Overcome.
The food there is not that good anyway.
Ya mean kids like this, grandma?
Allowing concealed and not open when the law allows open puts WB at risk because they are intentionally disarming some and not others based on god knows what.
Feelings don’t enter into it. If some guy walks in and robs the place, shooting an unarmed man that had to leave his gun home as a matter of company policy WHILE allowing another guy to keep one under his coat, they have a hell of a lawsuit headed to them.

It’s very simple.
Businesses do not have a legal obligation to let you carry mace, carry a broadsword, carry a pistol, openly carry a pistol, openly or concealed carry a small, handheld nuclear device, etc to defend yourself.
Negligence can be found in an unmarked wet floor, an unlit parking lot, a manager with a prior conviction of food poisoning poisoning people in his new place of employment, but they have no obligation to let you openly carry a firearm to protect yourself.
Don;t like it; shop elsewhere?
An argument might be made that denial of the ability to carry a concealed weapon in a sole source vendor, (the only grocery store or gas station within 100 miles, etc.) creates liability. but strict property rights would probably shoot that down.
All the rest is legal hogwash.
Good point. As a side note, a friend of mine travels up to Canada now and again for the fishing. He almost always gets pulled over at the border for a full car inspection. He couldn't figure out why, until another friend mentioned it was probably due to the NRA sticker on his back bumper.
So I suppose some stickers are more equal than others.
You know, lots of businesses lost lots of lawsuits believing the same thing.
Concerning whataburger and open carry. Lots of places in Oklahoma have a similar policy. They don't prohibit firearms. Concealed carry is fine. They just prohibit open carry. I have no problem with it since I don't advertise my sidearm anyway.
Lol!
Not at all. Proof would have to regard the specific event, at the specific place, at the specific time, under the exact circumstances.
Think about this argument to the jury;
“So, Sir, you are claiming to this jury that if you had your pistol on your belt, in plain sight, that somehow you would have been able to “get the drop” on the three shotgun armed robbers, WHO KNEW YOU WERE ARMED.
Sir, in reality, all your openly carried gun would have gotten you.... is shot first..... and even Inspector Clouseau isn’t that stupid! “
Please link us to ONE business that paid damages because they didn’t let patrons be openly armed.
?
?
I think our inner cities are more like 2015 Nigeria than the Old West. At least out West there was some law and honor.
Tell me with a straight face Businesses have not been sued for far less. -—Thats my entire point.-— Dispute that.
