Later this month, MTV is set to air a documentary that shames white people for "what they’ve done in America," Paul Joseph Watson reported at Infowars Thursday, citing a write-up by the network. According to the left-wing Salon, the documentary by Pulitzer Prize winner Jose Antonio Vargas called “White People” asks “very uncomfortable” questions about white privilege and white frustration.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the documentary is scheduled to run July 22 and follows five young white people, exploring their notions of racial identity in modern America. Kimberly Ricci said a trailer for the program "features white people talking about how hard it is to 'be careful.' Why? 'You say the wrong thing, and suddenly you’re a racist.'”
Ricci also said the documentary forces participants “to internalize what they’ve done in America.” In short, Watson observed, the program is "a huge exercise in white guilt tripping for public consumption."
Katherine Speller said the goal of the program is to start "some real and honest conversations in a thoughtful, judgment-free environment." But many viewers of the trailer, which has been posted to YouTube, aren't happy about it at all.
