And that is not sitting well with some of the party’s top donors, many of whom favor pro-amnesty legislation and do want to see their establishment darlings like Jeb Bush and Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL)

According to an Associated Press report, “Republican donor John Jordan said Monday that GOP leaders should take steps to block Trump’s access to the first presidential debate in early August.”
“Someone in the party ought to start some sort of petition saying, ‘If Trump’s going to be on the stage, I’m not going to be on there with him,'” Jordan told the AP. “I’m toying with the idea of it.”

Never heard of J.J. before this and will make sure not to buy his wine. This attempted censorship is scary. Trump has done a major service for all of us by turning against the choke hold of the left on free expression. Just last year NASCAR, for example, went after a young driver for an innocent comment, set to destroy his career.

If Trump stays high in the polls blocking him from the debates will enhance his status. He will make it work for him. These debates will more likely harm the participants than help. More than two or three in a “debate” totally wastes time and resources. Moderators will have favorites and the others will get little air time. And the moderators will be all leftist stars as has been the case since there were Debates. Republicans refuse to insist on non Democrat moderators.

Is this guy stupid?! I don’t like Trump, but he’s earneda place at the debate table. Lock him out, and he’s likely to buy TV time on a better network right after or during the debate. If JJ had any brains in his head, he’d start doing his oppo research and let others do the attacking. He could also contribute to those candidates who could parry Trump’s talking points in debate effectively (Cruz, Jindal, maybe RUbio, Walker, Perry). Making Trump the martyr helps Trump.
