Just an offhand observation:
Jesus was always talking about ‘stumbling blocks’.
Smartass that he was, wouldn’t the creation of a worldly ‘church’ or ‘congregation’ be the ultimate stumbling block, or ‘rock’, that must finally be negotiated to find true faith?
The true Church exists in its perfection in heaven.
We are predestined to be just like Christ. All
things (includes difficult things) happen to
the good of those who love Him and are called
according to His good purpose. This all is a
gift of pure grace. To say that the true Church
is anything but what God, ultimately, is making
it to be is to do exactly what you say, which is
to put a stumbling block in someone’s way. Doing
well has a role, and the Church has a role, but
ultimately we are dealing with God or with sinful
men.
Your’re close, Jesus is the stumbling block and this Pope is tripping all over him by embracing social justice (Marxism, Communism) as a way to justification and salvation for the world.
He belongs to Satan.
The Catholics have a real problem here.
