and when you realize this, you’ll become a Cruz supporter.

I was leaning to Cruz until he came up with that naive idea of voting out justices.

So where did I say I was a Trump fan? I’m not...I was just responding to some other posters about the direction of NR. Calm down.

I'm not going to disagree. Like him or hate him (and I mostly dislike him) Trump has the guts to say the correct thing...i.e. unrestricted immigration will destroy this country.

You are correct...most other Pubbie candidates are gutless weasels on this topic. But Trump is also extremely wrong on many conservative issues. He just happens to right on the one hot button issue conservatives are justifiably most concerned about.

His core beliefs are not relevant? You are stupid. I love you, but you are an idiot.

Perhaps I did not express myself well enough. Trumps core beliefs are not relevant to understanding what he is promoting. We often can understand a person and understand what that person will do by understanding that persons core beliefs. With a promoter, their core beliefs are not relevant to understanding what they will say or do. Making the deal is the only core belief. I understand that many Freepers will not understand this.

The direction of NRO is totally irrelevant. So is Jonah Goldberg per se...but some, NOT ALL, but SOME of what he said is relevant.

This conservative is wise enough to realize that Donald is not a true blue conservative and he may actually be doing the bidding of the global elite who run the show, or try to.

Nonetheless he has done something no rino or conservative has done and that’s break down some of these walls that hide the fact that America is being destroyed by massive illegal migration on purpose.

Hopefully he takes on the “hate whitey” and “celebrate sodomy” transformation that the D of C is forcing on us.

Another hope is that his ego takes over as he realizes he actually can become P. We need a rebel leader to counter Soros.

I totally agree with that, and even Jonah agrees with some of that.

Lot of posts going on here...which words are you talking about?

Meanwhile, THESE below are Jonah’s words, some of which are directly quoting Trump:

“..... seem to think he’s an immigration hardliner, and he’s certainly pretending to be. But why can’t you see through it? He condemned Mitt Romney as an immigration hardliner in 2012 and favored comprehensive immigration reform. He told Bill O’Reilly he was in favor of a “path to citizenship” for 30 million illegal immigrants.”

and this....
“Trump: You have to give them a path. You have 20 million, 30 million, nobody knows what it is. It used to be 11 million. Now, today I hear it’s 11, but I don’t think it’s 11. I actually heard you probably have 30 million. You have to give them a path, and you have to make it possible for them to succeed. You have to do that. Question: Just how many rapists and drug dealers did Donald Trump want to give green cards to?”

Let’s not forget:
The man wrote in his own book and said elsewhere that he was in favor of Canadian-style socialized medicine — which would put him to the left of Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, and on pretty much the same page as Bernie Sanders.”

and...
“Trump praised Hillary Clinton and her health-care reform plan — in 2007! She attended his (most recent) wedding. He donated to her campaigns and to the Clinton Foundation. In 2008, he couldn’t get his head around the fact that Obama didn’t pick her for VP. “I’m a big fan of Hillary. She’s a terrific woman. She’s a friend of mine.”

THIS is a goodie too:
“People tout the guy’s business record. But he represents almost exactly what his supporters think he opposes. He’s a crony capitalist par excellence. He gives to whatever politician can grease the skids for his next deal — and he makes no apologies for it. He’s an eminent-domain voluptuary. He abuses bankruptcy laws like a stack of homemade get-out-of-jail-free cards.”

or...
“I’m totally pro-choice. I hate it and I hate saying it. And I’m almost ashamed to say that I’m pro-choice but I am pro-choice because I think we have no choice.”

“Conservatism is a body of ideas, beliefs, and temperaments. The amazing thing is that Trump is both a RINO and a CINO. I’m sure he has some authentic and sincere conservative views down in there somewhere. But the idea that he’s more plausibly conservative — or more loyally Republican — than Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, Scott Walker, or any of the others is just flatly absurd.”

Guys like Warren Buffet would be on short list for cabinet positions. He would want negotiators who have proven track records of results. But that said, I cannot see someone like Trump actually wanting to win. I don’t think it is his end game. Winning would place too many restrictions on his life and his wealth and his ability to promote.

Goldberg’s WORDS are relevant....Goldberg personally is not. If his words are true and valid....and some of them are....then WTF does it matter that some of his words in the past are not true or valid. What does it matter if his publication is sliding to the dark side (and I admit they are)?

This idea that because NRO or Ann Coulter or others have strayed some in the recent past equating to nothing they say being valid is just EFFEN DAMNED STOOOOOOPID.

A self-promoter, Raycpa. That's where that core belief stuff comes from. He'll drop in like a pinball.

Not a patient man, especially with willful ignorance, emotion over intellect, and especially...MOST ESPECIALLY - the time condemned FR tradition of being obsessed with personalities over ideas - related to the paranoia about motives.

What so few on FR want to admit here is that Jonah is NOT attacking Trump from the left...where the Democrats and the media and the GOP e is attacking him from.

He is attacking from the right....he is making the conservative case not to support Trump. Yeah, it’s snarky. And no, Jonah is not a pure conservative, but THIS ARTICLE is all about why/who conservatives need to wake up.
