Greeks are not going to put their savings in the bank. Sure, businesses will need to put enough money in the bank to pay certain bills, and individuals will need money in the bank to pay mortgages and high ticket items, but no extra cushion sitting around for banksters or the gov to steal. Say your a Greek businessman in Santorini with a couple of restaurants and souvenir shops. Any surplus will go into PMs or cash; the bank will be only for expenses that require a check/digital payment. Ther will be a cash price and a digital price.

The only way to get rid of a gray market is to get rid of cash for credit cards.

A 25% sales tax?
I guess you can get away with that as long as you’re borrowing from the Germans.
Now they can’t.
The solution for socialists..... raise taxes.
Dear Greece:
Try an experiment. Reduce your tax rate in one area and see if you actually collect more tax money.
