Among his many books are "The Pearl Harbor Papers: Inside the Japanese Plans" (1993) and the best-selling "At Dawn We Slept: The Untold Story of Pearl Harbor" (1981). He is a professor at the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs at the University of Pittsburgh. He told us the supposed Yamamoto quote is "bogus."

IMHO, the resolve to have a rifle behind every blade of grass diminishes with each generation, each new 'acceptance' of the liberal progressive agendas.

In the article it says:
When the police arrived, the attacker ran off through the Forum packed with tourists towards the centre of Rome, piazza Venezia, where he was disarmed and arrested.
So I am not sure why they added that stupid line at all in the article.
One policemen that intervened at the scene explained how officers were unable to shoot the attacker for fear of injured people in the crowd.
So perhaps that was why they said powerless. They just decided to see what happened. In this case they got lucky, as did the pretty young lady.
