“You hear Donald Trump talking about Kate Steinle like he knows her. I’ve never heard a word from his campaign manager, never heard a word from him. Its disconcerting and I don’t want to be affiliated with someone who doesn’t have the common courtesy to reach out and ask about our political views and what we want.”

Since they lived in CA we pretty much know what their political beliefs are. The sad reality is their political beliefs contributed to their loved ones death. Funny thing about liberals, when unintended consequences happen because of their ideology they want to blame conservatives or Republicans.

Now the media will care about this issue--because a family member of the victim is upset.....at Trump.

Now, what would truly be awesome is if this is a setup by Trump to get this guy on live national TV....and then the guy turns the tables and rips Hussein for not enforcing immigration law.

I could see it now, the guy is asked by Matt Lauer or Diane Sawyer or Scott Pelley, "Why do you think Donald Trump is exploiting your sister's death?"....

And then the guy says, on live tv, "That is the only reason you want me on your channel, is to attack Trump? The person who is really to blame isn't Trump, but your little tin idol Obama--he didn't enforce the border, but swore to do so---and I hope the next person in the White House will fix the mess Obama is leaving."

Trump means to address the reason your sister was killed. Or are your personal politics more important than that?

No mention of Bill O'Reilly and his petitioning of Congress for Kate's Law?

The brother has changed his tune and is different than the parents' reaction. I guess the brother must have got the message that he should attack the messenger rather than SF's sanctuary city policy and tree USG's failure to enforce immigration laws. We all should be outraged by criminal alien crime.

The number of criminal aliens in federal prisons in fiscal year 2010 was about 55,000, and the number of SCAAP criminal alien incarcerations in state prison systems and local jails was about 296,000 in fiscal year 2009 (the most recent data available), and the majority were from Mexico.

The number of criminal aliens in federal prisons increased about 7 percent from about 51,000 in fiscal year 2005 while the number of SCAAP criminal alien incarcerations in state prison systems and local jails increased about 35 percent from about 220,000 in fiscal year 2003. The time period covered by these data vary because they reflect updates since GAO last reported on these issues in 2005. Specifically, in 2005, GAO reported that the percentage of criminal aliens in federal prisons was about 27 percent of the total inmate population from 2001 through 2004.

Based on our random sample, GAO estimates that the criminal aliens had an average of 7 arrests, 65 percent were arrested at least once for an immigration offense, and about 50 percent were arrested at least once for a drug offense. Immigration, drugs, and traffic violations accounted for about 50 percent of arrest offenses.

About 90 percent of the criminal aliens sentenced in federal court in fiscal year 2009 (the most recently available data) were convicted of immigration and drug-related offenses. About 40 percent of individuals convicted as a result of DOJ terrorism-related investigations were aliens.

SCAAP criminal aliens incarcerated in selected state prison systems in Arizona, California, Florida, New York, and Texas were convicted of various offenses in fiscal year 2008 (the most recently available data at the time of GAO's analysis). The highest percentage of convictions for criminal aliens incarcerated in four of these states was for drug-related offenses.Homicide resulted in the most primary offense convictions for SCAAP criminal aliens in the fifth state--New York--in fiscal year 2008.

GAO estimates that costs to incarcerate criminal aliens in federal prisons and SCAAP reimbursements to states and localities ranged from about $1.5 billion to $1.6 billion annually from fiscal years 2005 through 2009; DOJ plans to update its SCAAP methodology for reimbursing states and localities in 2011 to help ensure that it is current and relevant. DOJ developed its reimbursement methodology using analysis conducted by the former Immigration and Naturalization Service in 2000 that was based on 1997 data.

Best practices in cost estimating and assessment of programs call for new data to be continuously collected so it is always relevant and current. During the course of its review, GAO raised questions about the relevancy of the methodology. Thus, DOJ developed plans to update its methodology in 2011 using SCAAP data from 2009 and would like to establish a 3-year update cycle to review the methodology in the future. Doing so could provide additional assurance that DOJ reimburses states and localities for such costs consistent with current trends. In commenting on a draft of this report, DHS and DOJ had no written comments to include in the report.

I’ve never heard a word from his campaign manager, never heard a word from him. Its disconcerting...

By the way, I never knew it was a requirement to ask permission to talk about a news event from those related.

Did this guy contact Donald Trump and reach out to him and ask if it was all right if he talked to the media about Donald Trump?

This guy is way off base. Possible he's miffed because he's not getting media exposure.

Trump rightly held the tragedy of this young woman's death out as an example of the disaster that is our immigration policy. If this is not discussed, nothing will ever be done to rectify it and more innocent people will be killed. Is that what the brother wants?

Trump talked about our illegal problem before his sister's murder. Her murder was national news. Was Trump supposed to ignore it? I would have been surprised if he had called the family during their time of mourning.

I guess the brother is over his mourning and wants to be called before anyone mentions his sister's death. Seems like the family is politicizing her death. Are they demanding the news organizations call them before they talk about their daughter/sister's death?

Many members of congress do not know Kate either. Yet many are trying
to pass a law, Kate’s law to protect innocent Americans from criminal illegals.
Does her brother wish that this law not be passed because members of
congress do not know her or have not made a phone call to him to give his
permission?

The fact that he is trashing Trump will embolden those who do not want
Kate’s law. The complete opposite of his parents.

This brother is wrong. The story of his sister's death doesn't belong only to her family.

That said, Trump should reach out to the brother to hear his concerns, and to mollify him in some way - perhaps mention him by name in subsequent speeches. Having the brother out there objecting to Trump just provides ammo for the pro-illegal Left and distracts from the main message - that sanctuary for criminal aliens is insanely wrong and irresponsible.

During his interview with Megyn Kelly he didnt mention Trump at all, but then goes on CNN to trash Trump, makes no sense(But you could see CNN was trying hard to make this guy say something negative about Trump) but Brad on July 4th on twitter praised Trump and thanked him for mentioning his sister

Thank you for posting her brother’s tweet. Now I know what Trump was talking about on his twitter feed. Seems like the family is politicizing her death now.

Maybe it's not about politics. Trump gets on some people's nerves. He's not everybody's cup of tea. All the more so if somebody's sister just got murdered. The brother may be more somebody who's hurting and felt slighted than someone pushing any political agenda.

Here’s the link to your image. He gives Donald Trump kudos for talking about his sister, then trashes him a few weeks later.

Could be his friends and co-workers gave him grief. It is San Francisco after all. Or maybe Donald just gets on his nerves.

The guy is on record as charging that San Francisco "essentially rolled out the red carpet" for his sister's killer, so treating him as somebody who wants to do the same thing for illegals may not be fair.

Not totally unexpected from a family that is in shock and bereaving the lost of a loved one. Inconsistently is typical when in a state of shock.

I’m sure the Trump campaign manager wishes s/he had reached out to the family beforehand, just as a common courtesy.

I believe it was on the Kelly file, not sure. But when he was asked if the WH or Obama had contacted him, he said, “no, bust wished they would”. (Paraphrased).

I remember this because my husband and I both looked at each other and said, Obama would be the last person I would talk to under this circumstance, wouldn’t even accept his call.
