Why aren’t they allowed to carry firearms?

Because Bill Clinton ordered it so. Along with PP this is something that needs to be on the agenda NOW. There is no excuse that our soldiers can’t protect themselves in their own country.
It needs to be fixed NOW.

FBI agent just asked in news conference if it was a “Gun Free Zone”. He stuttered that he didn’t know, but it was Federal Property, and you’re not allowed to take a weapon there “without special approval”. You can see the sign above the bullet holes in the door of the recruiting center.

Putz.

I was not Bill Clinton.

Department of Defense (DoD) Directive 5210.56, signed into effect in February 1992 by Donald J. Atwood, deputy secretary of defense under President George H.W. Bush.

FWIW: While he was at it, Clinton had the targeting cards removed from all ICBMs - do not know if they were ever restored.

“Because Bill Clinton ordered it so”

Actually, it was Old Bushie. George the First.

Why should he worry? Old Bushie has had Secret Service protection since 1980. His whole fam damily, too.
