How about neutral and trying to feather the emergency brakes?

Beats scrambling a transmission I guess.

Oh...no doubt.
Like I said, if this became widespread it would be quite a threat to contemplate.
If one finds his/her car completely under remote control, one might have to find clever ways to halt the vehicle.

The trouble is, some of these computer controls will not allow that. It's all electronic. If the computer won't let the car shift from drive, it won't shift from drive, regardless of what you do.
