TEX TN. CODE ANN. § 542.501 : Texas Statutes - Section 542.501: OBEDIENCE REQUIRED TO POLICE OFFICERS AND TO SCHOOL CROSSING GUARDS

A person may not wilfully fail or refuse to comply with a lawful order or direction of:
(1) a police officer; or
(2) a school crossing guard who:
(A) is performing crossing guard duties in a school crosswalk to stop and yield to a pedestrian; or
(B) has been trained under Section 600.004 and is directing traffic in a school crossing zone.

Fine. Now show me where being told to put out your cigarette in your own motor vehicle is considered a “lawful order”. By what authority?

how is asking a person to put out a cigarette in his own car a lawful order?

if a cop or crossing guard asks me to pick my nose, is that a lawful order?

So, sport, by your all-encompassing laws, if he told her to choke herself and stop breathing, A-OK?

Oops, there is that nasty little "lawful" catch to the statute. You must hate that, eh?

I am sure the police union is working overtime to come up with a "lawful" reason to demand she stop smoking............
