All barbs of Pooper Cooper aside, I can sum up Trump’s strategy is “the best defense is a good offense.” His instincts are to attack, continously and relentlessly, and never yield the initiative.

And Americans seem to naturally like that.

It is as if Trump has assumed the role of interim CEO of USA,Inc., is taking control and looking for results right now. He is not waiting to be elected. There is absolutely no one effectively challenging him.

Exactly right - if you’re a republican candidate you cannot treat the media (i.e. the liberal propaganda organs) as impartial arbiters. You have to go in there and challenge all their premises and highlight their biases - put them on the defensive. They are your enemy.

Newt knew how to do it and Trump definitely does also.
