President Obama on Thursday pledged to use his last 18 months in office to work on gun control, calling it “the one area where I feel that I’ve been most frustrated and most stymied.”
“If you ask me where has been the one area where I feel that I’ve been most frustrated and most stymied, it is the fact that the United States of America is the one advanced nation on earth in which we do not have sufficient, common-sense gun safety laws – even in the face of repeated mass killings,” he told the BBC in an interview.
“And if you look at the number of Americans killed since 9/11 by terrorism, it’s less than 100. If you look at the number that have been killed by gun violence, it’s in the tens of thousands," Obama continued.
“For us not to be able to resolve that issue has been something that is distressing, but it is not something that I intend to stop working on in the remaining 18 months.”

Good Lord this man is an idiot. He makes less sense every time he opens his mouth. We have numerous Federal gun laws, Every State has numerous gun laws, and some larger cities/areas have numerous gun laws. We have a people problem not a gun problem. But this a-hole thinks he is so superior to everyone else that if HE passes a gun law then all our problems will be solved.
He doesnt have 18 months. Whatevah
Two things.
(1) They won't.
(2) Executive orders mean never having to ask for permission.
You make the mistake of thinking he means what he says and thus is ignorant. And that what he really wants is gun control. He couldn't care less about the truth or telling it, and his real goal is controlling people, not guns. He says what he needs to say to justify his taking a chainsaw to the constitution.
All the states have to do is say no. Not a thing he can do about it.

I shudder to think about how many people will die so he can get gun control. Every time there’s a shooting in the next 18 months, with the election coming, the media will blame it on Republicans, or some right wing crazy or the Tea Party, whether it’s true or not. It’s a set up.
There goes another 25,000,000 firearms sold!
One only has to look at history to see where we are going.
People need to think of guns as a check on government power- 120 Million gun owners versus 5 Million in ‘government forces’.
The government is in essence trying to take control of it’s own constraints - that NEVER turns out well.
