Donald Trump leads the GOP presidential field again this week, though controversial remarks about Sen. John McCain may have dented his popularity among Republicans

Donald Trump’s rise in the Republican contest for the 2016 presidential nomination doesn’t appear to have been slowed much – at least not yet – by the recent controversy over his criticisms of Arizona Sen. John McCain’s war record last weekend. In fact, although Trump’s favorable ratings among Republicans have declined, he is still ahead – and far ahead – when Republicans are asked to choose among the 16 currently announced candidates.

In last week’s poll, Donald Trump received the highest favorable ratings of any candidate from Republicans, apparently helped by his tough position on illegal immigration. This week, however, Trump’s favorable ratings dropped 11 points, and his unfavorable rating has risen 15 points.

28% is the highest any candidate has registered yet in a poll. That is a very strong showing in a field of 16.

I thought it would get a bigger bump!

Most people have had enough of McCain.

Rush said in the third hour today that there was an amendment six weeks ago which offered to arm personnel at military recruitment centers.

McCain quashed it.

The Manchurian Candidate strikes again.

I voted for McCain because he was pro-life and pro-traditional marriage. In the end, he was a spineless, drooling goober.

I voted for Romney to change the tide and get the current radical AG out of his position. The GOP continued to be spineless goobers, repeatedly. I watched John Roberts in action.

Lotsa talkie, talkie, talkie, no walkie, walkie, walkie.

I have given up on the GOP. I’ve fought for them and they’ve done nothing as the country is wrecked. If Boehner isn’t crying, he’s golfing with the Bammy or blowing hot air.

We gave them the House and the Senate. Better get crackin’ boys.

Indeed. My prediction was that Trump would peak at 25%.

But but...we gotta support the GOP choice NO MATTER HOW LIBERAL HE IS!!!!!!

Will those who screech this every election be out demanding dissenters vote for Trump, the Republican nominee? This gets better every day.

The GOP is evil and has repeatedly proven it. No one has an excuse anymore. If they support evil, they are evil.

Yeah, it’s sad. Really sad. It’s the GOP’s own fault because they abandoned their base. Stabbed them in the back. Protect goobers like McCain.

It’s like they want to hand it to Hillary. I’m not sure they don’t. They know the economic crash is coming; perhaps they’re scared to win, not wanting a GOPe’r in office. Seems to me that’s why they picked a “Bush” knowing it’s automatic poison on all sides.

Even if he wasn’t a spineless, NWO, open-borders liberal goober. Which he is.

I like Jindal, Pataki, and Santorum. My Kentucky Derby picks were just as good.

Trump should challenge each candidate, individually, to a debate. Bet none of them would take him up on it. In which case he could have a good time mocking them.
Trump vs Graham.
Trump vs Rubio.
Trump vs Bush.

They are all one world Govt types. The only thing is that it’s been that way since at least Bush. Reagan was the abbe ration. He set them back as Ford and Jimmah were well on their way to getting the ball rolling in the modern sense.

All the tin foil conspiracy theorists were far more right than wrong and people are too prideful to admit they were wrong.

I hate to say this...but I voted for both McCain & Romney....knowing they were losers from the gitgo!!! I will not do that ever again. With the exception of Trump, Cruz, Fiorina, Carson, etc., the rest of the Republican establishment RINO pansies are dead-in-the-water, losers before the batttle begins.

Someone, any one.........please show them how to grow a backbone!!!

Keep in mind that last week the media lapdogs were saying Trump's support would collapse to zero because he responded in kind to his supporters being called "crazies".

I'm thinking that Trump's news conference, standing shoulder-to-shoulder with the leaders of Laredo is going to be another boost.
