See my post 84...

I have to wonder though how many of your IV antibiotic patients with dental infections are the result of poor personal preventive care? Actions have consequences and personal actions should have only personal consequences.

A simple but complete blood screen should not cost $1200... this is routine work... real people can’t afford that on a routine basis (annually)... the price is set by what the traffic will bear and not by a competitive market.

Medicine carries no obligation to realistic cost. It is simply not affordable for the average person and therefore an average health care policy is not affordable. Medicine is priced out of reach to society. The cost is not sustainable.

If the argument is made that factory medicine is too impersonal I would say compared to what? The impersonal, hardened, mistake ridden, cold institutional medicine we have now or some human level of competence, compassion and care? I’m not talking all facilities and physicians mind you but in the norm it feels cold and often incompetent to me.

Just about every time I come in touch with the medical system I am disappointed by something... even the small things it can’t get right. The larger the facility the worse it is. It does not inspire feelings of competence and comfort.

Heathcare and Insurance have little to do with affordability....it has to do with revenue flow first and above reasonable costs to the public.....and designed to do just that. When you have severe corruption from Government involvement, and others, skimming off the top, you can be sure that Obamacare is NOT going to be repealed.
