I’ve been there. Odd little country. In 1968 I was visiting a publisher in the suburbs of Copenhagen. On the ride to her house I spotted a lone mid-rise tower ( high rise to them at the time) in the flat landscape. I remarked on it and was told that it was a state funded home for unwed mothers. She took quite a bit of patriotic pride in that.

The scale of things took me aback. The famous Tivoli Gardens was tiny. I did see the flea circus in the glass box. LOL.

And of course the Little Mermaid bronze at Copenhagen harbor side.

Lots of Carlsberg Elephant imbibed.

I like the North Sea coast of Denmark. Great for a relaxing holiday week in the dunes. Never been to Copenhagen, though.

We used to own a very nice thatched roof house in Denmark, but the gov’t doesn’t like foreign property ownership and made all sorts of problems until we ended up selling it again. They much prefer - or preferred till now - welfare-sucking third-worlders. Oh well.
