In the political discussion of today, there always comes a risk of being discounted as a crackpot when using a word like “fascist” to describe a political opponent. The word, much like “socialist,” has been so abused since the fall of fascism that it lost its meaning quite some time ago. Comparisons of modern leaders to Hitler tend to be completely void of any substance, and there is even an Internet adage, “Godwin’s law,” that says, “As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches one.”
In a recent article by Jeffrey Tucker, however, it is argued, quite justly in my opinion, that Donald Trump, whether he knows it or not, is a fascist (or is at least acting like one). Much like Mussolini and Hitler, Trump is a demagogue dedicated to riling up the people (particularly conservatives) with race baiting, traditionalism and strongman tough talk — and, according to polls, it’s working — for now.

I was wondering how soon the Left would begin hurling the word “fascist”, a go-to term when racist and homophobe do not stick.
Sorry, “Fascism” is a child of the LEFT, born of crony capitalism and oligarchies that have teamed up with authoritarian rule and the formation of semi-hereditary power castes, all done for the “betterment” of the inferior classes, while in fact doing little or nothing to afford any in the underclass to ever break out of the prison in which they were born.
But you see, The Donald is much more of an iconoclast, a smasher of the symbols and very real tools of suppression and intimidation, operating very much by his concept of a set of rules that maybe, just maybe, give the underdog an opportunity not offered for decades.

The actual fascists, the ones who practice government corporate partnership and who pass laws o limit competitors of the favored corporations are the Democrats and Republicans in Washington DC. Trump is called a fascist because he is building a following like Il Duce’s.
Since Salon has already likened Scott Walker to Hitler, Trump must be beyond Hitler.

The Democrats tried the “Fascist” line with Reagan. They do it because they know that some of THEIR OWN PEOPLE will drift over to Trump, based on his position against Open Borders. That is their REAL FEAR...they are scared of losing a HUGE NUMBER of voters to Trump, as they correctly feared when Reagan ran.
If the Democrats cannot compete with ideas, and they certain can’t hold their white voters by promising Open Borders, they are pretty much left to try to SCARE their white voters not to go over to Trump...which is what we see here.

Do the media even realize that the vast majority of US citizens finally agree on something? That would be that their attempts to take down Trump have been reduced to ridicule, because of their dysfunctional desperation.
Getting Trump in as President to say "you're fired" to the rats (and pubs) in the DC sewer is a desire felt across the political spectrum.

Interesting re-definition of what they’re doing. Social progress is freeing blacks from slavery and giving them an equal opportunity in society.
“Social Progress” is not REPOPULATING the country with Illegals from societies that actually are, usually, Fascist. “Social Progress” is not tearing down a definition of marriage that goes back 5,000 years. And “Social Progress” is not putting up with a law-breaking president just because he’s black.

This particular piece is targeting White readers that are starting to warm up to Trump - as there are MILLIONS of White Democrats that are not very hot on Open Borders or Gay Marriage or Quotas, and may just drift to Trump.
The writer has to maintain credibility with that huge crowd, so, yes, he doesn’t want them labeling him as a crackpot, or they won’t bother reading what he has to say about Trump.
The rabid leftists instantly consider Trump to be a Fascist, since he’s running as a Republican - holding on to those voters will not be a problem for the Democrats.
