My mother (a grandmother) doesn’t need to purchase any firearms. She already has just about anything she could ever want: handguns, rifles, shotguns... Born and raised on a farm, she knows how to shoot. She learned to shoot in an environment where being a good shot meant food on the table. She carries outside the home, and always has a firearm within reach in her house. She’s used them more than once to run off people who wouldn’t take a more polite hint/message. I have very few safety/security concerns for my mother. ;-)
