[KY] State forbids pastors calling homosexuality 'sinful'

The state of Kentucky has begun imposing a religious test on volunteer pastor counselors in its youth division, insisting that they refrain from calling homosexuality “sinful” and dismissing those who cannot bend their religious faith to accommodate the state requirements.

The policy was uncovered by Liberty Counsel, which has sent a letter to Bob Hayter, commissioner of the Kentucky Department of Juvenile Justice, demanding that the state religious test be dropped and that a dismissed counselor be reinstated.

“Liberty Counsel writes regarding the blatantly unconstitutional revocation of volunteer prison minister status of ordained Christian minister David Wells, who has provided voluntary spiritual counseling and mentorship to juvenile inmates under the control of the Department of Juvenile Justice. … This revocation was issued by Warren County Regional Juvenile Detention Center on the basis of the April 4, 2014, DJJ Policy 912, which mandates full DJJ support of homosexuality and transvestism.

“With no evidence of any violation of DJJ policy on Mr. Wells’ part, his volunteer status was revoked by the Warren RJDC superintendent because he could not sign a state-mandated statement that homosexuality was not ‘sinful,’ among other things,” the letter said.

The policy states that DJJ staff, volunteers and others “shall not imply or tell LGBTQI juveniles that they are abnormal, deviant, sinful or that they can or should change their sexual orientation or gender identity.”

The White Hut only obeys the SCOTUS when they wish.... Both agencies are rogue....it’s time for the PEOPLE to take upon themselves the burden of protection of the Constitution and correct the situation one way or another.

Neither do I...... bad things are an intrusion upon mankind it is ‘allowed’ but does not flow from God ..God is not the cause of death, pain or suffering..... “Death came by sin,” and one day God will end it...... Just because he possesses the greater power does not mean he must use it immediately. There is a time when satan is “allowed” to deceive....you give him an inch, he’ll destroy for he’s not called the destroyer for nothing.

Before Satan could get this far in Kentucky; he had to have some really fertile ground prepared. That has been done by his minions very effectively in this state and at astounding speed. The major step in preparing for the unholy was to create a majority population that is dependent on the government cesspool for its livelihood. Millions of pill heads, deadbeats, drug pushers and just plain sluggards have jumped on the devil’s bandwagon. The “Christian” churches had a choice. Either stop preaching and teaching Christian principles like hard work, marital fidelity, sobriety, etc, or suffer the loss of revenue and funding for their huge buildings and expensive “outreach” programs that do nothing more than bring in more people who have no intention of repenting of their wrongdoing. Such “feel good” ministries attract those that are only seeking a kind of absolution that they’re not really responsible for what they do. No one is going to dare tell them where they’re going if they don’t repent, least of all a Christian! It’s judgemental.

I now find myself unable to find a church that doesn’t embrace or at least refuse to address the homosexual lifestyle within acceptable driving distance of my home, even though there’s a church on every street and road in the county. I’m saddened and amazed at how fast this has happened. It’s my belief that it started with that old adage; “The devil finds work for idle hands.”

I believe that the time is at hand where all of us will have to choose between accepting The Mark of the Beast or losing our immortal souls trying to save our worldly lives. I’ve already seen some people I know do it, seeming not to realize the gravity of their decision.

If “the government made me do it” was an acceptable excuse for denying our Creator and His Word; then the Apostle Paul never needed to spend one day in prison and Daniel didn’t have to go into the lion’s den. I believe that the separation of the sheep and the goats has begun.

The pastors have every right to hold those views. The question is whether they have any right to work for a state agency -- period.

The bigger question for me would be: Why would a principled Christian have any interest serving a diabolical, pagan nation in ANY capacity?

God makes clear what homosexuality is throughout scripture, both Old and New Testaments:

Leviticus 18:22: You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination.

I Corinthians 6 9-10: Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

There has to be a ultimate ‘standard of measure’ that is truth....The problem lies in the root of relativism, that there is no absolute truth.

It doesn’t matter what country you’re in or what race you are or what religion you practice... if you fall off a building you will hit the ground the same.

Our society has become self deciding what is good, humanism is trying to do what is right without God in the equation. The humanist doesn’t need religion because he is confident that the heart of man is basically good. Even though humanism as an “ism” shares many common practical values with Christianity (ethics?), but the humanistic concept of “good” is on a collision course with Jesus’ view of “good.”

The humanist’s standard of goodness must be low enough for the average person to be able to meet it requirements consistently. God’s standard of goodness is perfection. This is why a humanist must make his own standard otherwise he will be unable to meet it. And of course that can all change in a whim. Although humanism can make the world better in some respects its standards still are relative to the culture and time.

For example many things were given in the past as cures for sicknesses would be rejected today as harmful. But at the time it was with good intentions. So humanism has no cure for evil nor can it explain it. Christ who is God and the ultimate good is the only answer.

I believe that is incorrect. The first four or five Bibles, before the Douay-Rheims, translated the Greek 'apostasia' as departure. That aligns with the other wording of the chapter, indicating that the lawlessness does not become 'unrestrained' until the Bride is Raptured or departed from the earth.

The following is the World English Bible translation, which is a Bible compiled from the earliest manuscripts and properly aligned to the earliest Bibles, 2 Thessalonian 2:

1. Now, brothers, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and our gathering together to him, we ask you not to be quickly shaken in your mind, nor yet be troubled, either by spirit, or by word, or by letter as from us, saying that the day of Christ had come.

3 Let no one deceive you in any way. For it will not be, unless the departure comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of destruction, he who opposes and exalts himself against all that is called God or that is worshiped; so that he sits as God in the temple of God, setting himself up as God. Read the first three verses in 2 Thess 2 with the departure in the sentence and the meaning pops out straight, agreeing with the rest of the text that came before and that follows. The Restrainer is the Holy Spirit, working through the spiritual Chruch Jesus established. When the restrainer work of the Holy Spirit is taken out of the way THEN the lawless one is revealed.

Rev 3:10 The spirit reveals to John that the faithful ekklesia will be kept from the not only the 'testing of the earth dwellers', but the 'hour of testing' of the earth dwellers: Rev 3:10 Because you have kept the word of My perseverance, I also will keep you from the hour of testing, that hour which is about to come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.

What comes upon the Earth when the restrainer is taken out of the way is the wrath of God. Paul assures that we are not appointed unto wrath, but to obtain salvation. The Rapture of the Church of Jesus The Christ will be Raptured before the wrath of God is poured out upon the earth in growing degrees of severity. The Body of Christ is not due the wrath of God. The crucifixion dealt with that as Jesus took upon Himself the sins of the whole world before His earth walk and after His earth walk. By faith we connect to that sacrifice He made at Calvary. The wrath of man has tormented The Church, but Revelation teaches it is The Wrath of God which will be poured out upon the earth and the Body of Christ is not appointed for that wrath.
